KL Forest Eco Park (formerly known as Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve) is one of the oldest permanent forest reserves in the country and the only one in the world that’s in the heart of a city. It is well maintained by the Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia which preserves the natural flora and fauna in the area. Locals frequent KL Forest Eco Park for the hiking trails that are laid out throughout the reserve. The trails vary in difficulty and are suitable for all ages. There is also a Skywalk that is suspended 20m above ground on one of the trails.

The entrance to KL Forest Eco Park and KL Tower are right beside each other. Purchase a ticket at the ground floor office and head up to the 275m observation deck for an unparalleled view of Kuala Lumpur.

The canopy walk offers some great views for photography as well. Get some wonderful shots of the macaques and monitor lizards that roam the forest.

Getting around
Getting around
Hop on the LRT Kelana Jaya line and stop at Dang Wangi station or alternatively stop at the Bukit Nanas station on the KL Monorail line. By car/taxi, you can also go up to the KL Tower entrance and enter Bukit Nanas from there. If you have a KL Hop-On Hop-Off bus pass, you can arrive here by getting off at stop #2.

- Bring mosquito repellent as there are plenty of them in the forest.
- Wear light clothing as you will get sweaty in the hot and humid weather.
- Plenty of monkeys are inside the forest so do mind your personal belongings and keep them safely tucked away in your bag.
- A daily guided tour is also provided for you to explore Bukit Nanas. The tour is scheduled at 10.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
