Founded by the Sinhalese community during 1895, the temple has grown into the modern age as a comfortable environment for the Malaysian Buddhist community to practice their beliefs. There is a beautiful lotus fountain in the compound which is a symbol of faith to Buddhists. Statues of Buddha from many parts of the globe are spread throughout the compound, both indoors and outdoors.You will see people from all walks of life visit here, and some even meditating under the bodhi trees in the compound. During Vesak Day celebrations in May, the temple will be crowded with festivities and night markets are organized.
