As you approach the eagle area, the sound of the boat’s motor excites the eagles and coaxes them out of the trees. Think of it as an alarm bell for mealtime. Insiders’ tips
Insiders’ tips
- Avoid booking this activity during the months of January to March as this is the time when the eagles nest and breed, there won’t be as many sightings compared to the rest of the year.
- If you’re here to photograph the eagles, your smartphone won’t cut it. The eagles swoop in fast and exit even faster! A decent DSLR camera will do a much better job.
- The main food used to attract the eagles are strips of chicken skin.
- This isn’t the most ideal food for their diet. If you don’t support this practice you should probably skip out on this event.
- Almost every tour operator has an island hopping tour that includes Pulau Singa Besar and the price per head varies depending on season.
