Insiders’ tips
The Penang Butterfly Farm was first opened in 1986 by David Goh, a Penangite and teacher whose love for butterflies grew throughout the years. Today the newly branded Entopia - which is run by David’s son, Joseph, still holds a special garden which is aptly name David’s Garden in homage to the founder where the original garden for Penang Butterfly Farm still sits.
For families with toddlers and babies, it is advised that you either carry your child or have a baby carrier on standby because the park is not stroller friendly. This is because most of the attractions weave indoors and outdoors with a lot of stairs and hilly trails to navigate through.
The ticket prices vary for Standard tickets and MyKad holders (locals). For Standard tickets, it costs RM45 per children or senior citizen and RM65 per adult. MyKad holders get to enjoy a lower rate, for RM29 per children or senior citizen and RM49 per adult. However, you get to save 10% if you purchase your tickets online via the official website at least 3 days in advance. Also, take note that the last tickets can be bought at the counter only until 5.30pm daily.
