Also known as Teluk Duyung among the locals, Monkey Beach is situated inside the Penang National Park. If you prefer some adventure, you can choose 2-3 hours of hiking each way from the National Park to Monkey Beach. Alternatively, you can also plan for a 5 hour trip here, including pick up from your hotel and a 30 minute boat ride to the beach.
Fishing is also available and the boatmen are friendly and helpful that you don’t have to get your hands dirty to experience it! Once at the beach, you can just simply take your time to enjoy the surrounding nature. A delicious BBQ spread is also available for lunch, although you do need to bring your own refreshments. From then on, you can just laze away in the shade or take a dip to cool off.
There’s plenty of opportunities to spot some eagles and other birds but be careful of the naughty monkeys who live on the jungles by the beach! When the tour ends, you will be taken back to your destination point before being transported back to your hotel.
