Tech Dome Penang is situated in the Geodesic Dome of Komtar, right in the centre of Georgetown. It has over 120 interactive scientific and technology exhibits across 40,000 sq ft of floor space. There are galleries on Information Technology, Life Tech, Robotics, Optics, Electromagnetism, Forces & Motion, Children’s Exploration Zone, Penang Transformation Story and PIXO Observatory. All of these exhibits are carefully put together to provide an immersive and experiential presentation on the wonders of science and technology. For a one of a kind experience, try the signature G-Drop where visitors are hoisted up and then slide down the gigantic slide.

There will be a lot of walking from one exhibit to another. In order to experience all the exhibits, dressing up in comfort by wearing suitable sports gear and a pair of comfortable shoes will do a lot of help.

Tech Dome Penang comes complete with an indoor carpark, nursing room for mothers, a food court called Hungry Atom: The Food Lab, 2 function rooms: Baryon and Meson, Graviton Lab for participants of various programmes, The Sail - an outdoor demo area and The Terrace for talks and performances.

All the exhibits and rides are conducted safely and monitored by the attentive Tech Dome staff. However, do note that you must wear proper sports or covered shoes, socks and pants at all times while attempting these activities.

- For those who want to try the G-Drop, G-Force and Wall Climbing go for the combo ticket at RM10. A bargain considering you get to try 3 different things. There are specific times for these activities too so be sure to check before hand to avoid any frustration.
- Tech Dome Penang is modelled after the San Jose Tech Centre in California, US where the local government provided the building and some seed money while the rest of the funding has been raised by corporations and the public.
- The place is open until 6pm, but last admission is only allowed until 5pm. Closed on Tuesdays except for public holidays and school holidays. It is also closed on New Year’s Day (Jan 1) and the first day of Chinese New Year. Admission for children below 5 years old are FREE.
- Standard admission fees - RM30 for children below 12 years old, RM40 for students (13 years and above with student ID), RM50 for adults, RM24 for senior citizen, RM12 for OKU and RM130 for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children). As for MyKad holders, the prices are half from the standard admission fee.
