Selat Panchor forest reserve is one of tropical forest in Langkawi, usually this trip will start early in the morning around 7am. You need to hire a Langkawi local guide to explore Selat Panchor because the trail difficulties is 3 out of 5. The trail start from Taman Berlian and ended on the other side of the hill where the trail will lead you to unnamed beach and you can explore a Selat Panchor cave. Thanks to Langkawi Island Hikers who explored this cave and now become one of the hidden gems attraction in Langkawi Island.
Trekking to the beach and cave will take 1.5 - 2 hours journey (depend on your pace), the trail path is quite easy to trek but abit slippery in some slope because trek condition is dry and sandy. Wear a right shoes to avoid any injury, if you don't have it you can buy rubber shoes made in Malaysia (adidas Kampung) at Mr DIY shop with just RM 10 - 12 for one pair.
If you hike with local guide, normally they will provide a head lamp and helmets for cave exploration. Selat Panchor cave depth roughly around 80 meter inside. At the end of the cave theres a waterfall flow in to the cave and you can take bath at this waterfall, the water is really fresh and can rejuvenate your body.
Flora and Fauna in this forest is still virgin, you can found a big trees, leaves, liyana trees, tongkat ali tree and rare insect like cicadas.
