Tirta Gangga is also known as the Royal Water Palace of Bali, where visitors can find a beautiful bathing complex consisting of great flora gardens, pools and traditional statues. Being used for temple ceremonies, the waters of Tirta Gangga Water Palace is considered to be holy and it supplies the clean source to various temples around Karangasem regency.
Belonged to the royal family of Karangasem kingdom, there are three separate bathing complexes - two ponds and a water tower on the lower floor and a swimming pool on the middle floor of the palace. On the third floor of the complex is where you can find the traditional home of the former King of Karangasem which was preserved since 1984.

From Ubud central, head north towards Amed and it will take approximately 2 and a half hours to reach Tirta Gangga Water Palace. It is best if you do this trip including planned visits to other attractions in Amed.

- Bring a change of clothes if you plan to take a swim here.
- The water of the pools can be a bit cold but it is still so refreshing.
- Shoot everything you see. Every part of the place is unique and if you like photography, this place is your paradise.
- If you don’t feel like swimming, visit Tirta Ayu Hotel’s lounge or bar to relax. It is located at the grounds of the palace.
- If you are planning to visit Bali somewhere between April and May, check out the Tirta Gangga Festival and look for the optional dates to make the most of your experience here.
- It is best to arrange your trip here in the morning so your visit can be less crowded. It can be slightly crowded in the pools especially in the afternoon during peak hours.
- Entrance fee is IDR 10,000 for locals. For foreigners, it is priced at IDR 15,000 per child and IDR 35,00 per adult.
- Swimming fee is charged separately at IDR 5,000 per child and IDR 10,000 per adult.
