What to expect?
Canyoning is an activity where you travel through canyon using variety of techniques such as abseiling, rappelling, swimming, climbing and even jumping off from the cliffs. Your journey will start with a pickup from your hotel in the morning. Light breakfast is usually included in the tour package as well. Located in Singaraja, the journey to Kerenkali base takes roughly an hour and a half. As soon as you reach the base, a safety briefing will be given by your instructors to guide your canyoning experience.
After that, you will get on a 10-minute journey by a pick-up truck before continuing the trails by trekking for another 10 minutes through the jungle to reach the starting point of your adventure. For easy and intermediate levels, the adventure starts with water slides and a sequence of jump-downs in a 6 metre range. The next part is where the fun begins, as you will start to rappel your way down through several points along the 26m high waterfall, going through 4 jumps and 2 slides as well.
Nearing the end point, a 15 metre rappel will be quite a challenge for some beginners to go through but not to worry as you will be guided through. Once you have ended your canyoning journey in Kerenkali, take some time to relax in the natural hot spring in the area. Enjoy your last 15 minutes by hiking to reach your pickup area to head back to the base camp. You would already feel a bit hungry by then but do not worry as you will be served Balinese dishes for lunch before you leave the area.
