Also known as Pura Taman Saraswati, this stunning temple is located in the heart of Ubud and it is surrounded by beautiful lotus pond. It is a sacred place of Hindu religion in Bali. It is a place of worship of Goddess Saraswati, who is believed to be a Goddess of Knowledge. It’s easy to spot the temple since it is as the center of Ubud. The landmark is the famous Ubud Royal Palace. There are plenty ways that you can get around in Ubud like the meter taxi that you can ask your hotel reception to call for you and if you love to ride a motorbike, there are many motorcycle that you can hire such as the local ‘Ojek’ ride. You can also go for a car rental that you can drive yourself or the one with drivers to take you and your family around. If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bicycle too.
From Denpasar, it takes an hour to get here. From Kuta, it takes an hour and 20 minutes. If you are from these two areas, it is best to arrange for a day trip so you can visit other attractions in Ubud as well.

- Dress decently as you enter the temple. There will be a sash and sarong provided at the entrance for you to wear throughout your tour in the temple to cover your knees and ankles.
- Best time to visit the temple is in the morning around 9.00 am, where the weather is more pleasant and there are less crowd.
- If you plan to visit the temple and also watch the cultural show, come later in the evening as the temple closes at 5.00 pm. You can spend some time walking around the area before continue watching the show at 7.30 pm.
- Entrance to the temple is free.
- However, if you wish to watch the cultural performances, price of IDR 80,000 is charged per person.
- Minimum dinner cover charge if you wish to dine in Cafe Lotus is IDR 200,000.
