From Kuta or Denpasar, it takes a 2-hour journey by car to reach here. It is 15-minutes closer from town of Ubud. Best to hire a guide to bring you to Banyumala Waterfall. Otherwise, rent a motorcycle and head here with your group of friends. Make Bedugul as your main landmark and just head north until you pass Buyan lake. You will see three junctions, and take left. Then, slow down to look for signs to Banyumala Waterfall and follow directions placed on the right side of the street.

- Trails may be slippery so be careful and wear comfortable shoes for your trekking to reach the waterfall.
- There’s no washroom facility here. Just bring along a towel and a set of clothes to change after your swim.
- It takes a 500m route to trek down and reach the foot of the waterfalls and roughly around 15 minutes. It is doable even for beginners and worth trying.
- There are rails at some route provided to support your trekking, but if you are not sure you can bring along a pair of walking sticks to help you.
- Bring water, snacks and a mat if you plan to relax here as there are no shops or facilities. You can enjoy picnicking on the huge rocks too.
- It’s best to plan your trip here in the morning and reach the waterfall by 8.30 am where you can enjoy the cool ambience and listen to peaceful sounds of nature. You can stay here until noon.
- It is not advisable to go here too late in the evening or at night when it gets dark because the trails are not clearly marked.
