Bukit Gasing is a hill and a green oasis covered by dense civilization that is located right at the border between Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. The hill is famous by local residents for activities that get the lungs and heart working and sweat off any extra weight. Covering the area of over 100 hectares, Bukit Gasing consists of several hiking trails within the park that is available to suit all levels of energy and fitness. There was once a rubber plantation that was abandoned for 50 years because the course of nature has overtaken the hillsides to create a beautiful secondary forest that is filled with woody herbs and large tropical trees.

Bukit Gasing is believed to be one of the most popular spots for hikers, trail junkies, hashers or nature lovers in Petaling Jaya. It usually gets pretty crowded during the morning weekends. The hiking experience is approximately 2 hours though it could be longer or shorter depending on the route that hikers take.
When is the best time to go there?
When is the best time to go there?
Try to avoid coming during the weekends as it tends to get very crowded and causing an unpleasant experience during the hike. We recommend to try come as early as possible as getting a parking space will be a nuisance and you might end up starting the hike by getting to the entrance from your car.

We also suggest to bring enough refreshments to last however long that you plan on hiking as there will be no vendors during the entire hike. Lots of people tend to forget to bring their refreshment from home. This can be quite dangerous as the area can be really secluded and the risk of getting hydrated is high. Also, ask any of the fellow hikers if you ever get lost or have any problems regarding the hike.

The path of the trail are nicely laid out and pretty wide at times. There's a number of bridges available, so you won't have to wet your shoes whilst crossing the baby streams. Some of the climbs have steps installed for people convenience. If any of hikers have any problems regarding the path of the trail, just ask any fellow hikers for assistance or directions. If hikers are the adventurous type, they can explore the beaten path and find their way to the little stream running through the forest reserve. The water looks crystal clear and fresh.
