Originally called Tiger Balm Garden, the park was built by the Aw brothers that created the famous Tiger Balm medical ointment. The intent of the various statues and dioramas installed at Haw Par Villa was to teach and preserve Chinese values across generations. Since then, the park has undergone major transformations and switched ownerships throughout the years to evolve into the fascinating Haw Par Villa that it is today.
During your tour at Haw Par Villa, expect to find realistic depictions of Hell in 10 Courts of Hell with grisly dioramas and statues. Explore the stories behind Chinese classics with dioramas of scenes from Journey to the West, Fengshen Bang, The 24 Filial Exemplars, Legend of the White Snake and Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

To get here, travellers can take the MRT Circle Line and stop at Haw Par Villa MRT station. Located along Pasir Panjang Road, it is convenient to reach Haw Par Villa via public transport or car too. By bus, take any that leads to bus stops 16019, 16011 or 16229. If you are driving, parking space is available at Haw Par Villa as well as nearby Science Park and Westway Shopping Mall.
