Ranked as Singapore’s top museum in 2014, the Asian Civilisations Museum is one of the leading museums here which specialise in pan-Asianism cultures and civilisations. The museum features a wide collection of artefacts and artworks that highlight the diverse cultural roots of Singapore.
The museum has different levels with thematic galleries ensuring a systematic learning experience. Level 1 explores Trade, with artefacts from the famous Tang Shipwreck and maritime traders. Themed as Faith and Belief, Level 2 features the origins and spread of religions across Asia.
Meanwhile, the Scholar’s Gallery showcases Chinese culture through the life of scholars which enjoy elevated societal status. On the 3rd level, the focus is on materials and design, featuring ceramics, fashion and textiles across pan-Asian cultures.

By train, alight at the Raffles Place MRT station (Exit H) and take a 5-minute walk to reach the museum. By bus, alight at the Fullerton Square bus stop (03011) and take a 2-minute walk to reach the museum. If you are driving here, the museum is accessible via a road behind Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall, off Fullerton Road near Anderson Bridge. Park at public parking spots available at the basement car park of the New Parliament House, at Six Battery Road and at One Fullerton.

- Do not miss the free guided tours conducted by volunteers at scheduled times. Alternatively, embark on a self-guided tour with the museum’s mobile app which is available on iTunes and Google Play.
- The galleries are wheelchair and stroller friendly.
- Coin-operated lockers are available for the visitors’ use to store valuable belongings.
- Get rid of the hunger pangs with a meal at Privé ACM or Empress.
- There are some museum etiquette for visitors to follow such as keeping voice low, refrain from touching any artefacts on open display, do not lean on showcases and no eating or drinking inside the museum.
- Admission to the museum ends 15 minutes before closing time.
- Entrance fee for exhibitions and permanent galleries vary for Singaporeans and Tourists. It is priced at S$12 per adult for locals and S$20 per adult for foreigners. Foreign students and senior citizens are entitled to a price of S$15 per person upon presenting valid concessions or IDs. There are even prices for a family of 5 at S$60 for tourists.
- Entrance fees are cheaper on Friday evenings from 7pm to 9pm.
- Singaporeans and PRs are entitled to free entry to permanent galleries.
- Prior bookings are required for group visits of more than 20 persons. Group bookings of at least 20 pax will be entitled to 20% discount.
