Windsurfing involves you heading out into the water on a surfboard with a sailing mast attached to it. Don’t worry if that sounds scary, you’ll be given a safety briefing and tutorials before you attempt windsurfing! As the wind picks up, adjust your mast accordingly and soon you’ll be sailing at high speeds across the water! Once you’re comfortable with your balance, you can even try a few jumps and tricks to show off.
It’s an intensive sport that will give you a good workout plus a great watersport experience that you’ve never tried before. Keep in mind that it is essential that you’re a strong swimmer and have confidence in the water as you might have to swim when there’s no strong wind.
Currently, Oxbold is the only company that supplies windsurfing lessons at the moment. You can head to their website to get more information on their available packages. They will give you a meeting point at the Maritime Centre and will guide you through the lessons there.
