16km away from the city of Seremban, Ulu Bendul Recreational Park is a famous area in Negeri Sembilan out of the six parks that have been developed as ecotourism destinations. It has been popular as a leisure area since the 1920s with the surrounding forest reserve estimated to be approximately 130 million years old.
Camping is a well liked activity here because of it’s ease and availability of proper camp sites and related facilities. Most visitors here like to camp for a night before heading on to hike Mount Angsi. It is 825 metres tall and takes 2-4 hours to climb but is well worth it for the breathtaking view of the green landscapes at the top of the hill.

- Remember to jot down your details and expected time of return from hiking Mount Angsi with the park ranger’s office. This way they know to look for you if you’re missing.
- Be wary of your personal belongings such as wallets and handbags as snatch thieves have been caught in the past here.
- The park is not as safe for a lone traveller compared to groups. Bring a few friends with you should you wish to camp overnight here.

- If you wish to hike up Mount Angsi, you will need to purchase a permit that costs RM 5 per person at the park ranger’s office at the recreational park. Purchase the permit early before 9:30 AM as latecomers may be denied entry to hike up the hill. The park ranger’s office opens at 8 AM.
- If you choose to camp here, make sure to bring all your needed equipments and start your hike up early in the morning so you will have plenty of time there to rest and discover the park.
- Have a small chat with the locals in the area. You might get to know where the most convenient spots are to pitch your tent!
- Chalets & A-shaped huts here cost around RM 20 - RM 30 per night.
- Peak times are during Malaysian school holidays at the middle and end of the year.
- It is best to come here and enjoy exploring the park at ease during the weekdays. The river here with a small waterfall is a famous spot among locals to hang out on the weekends so it might be crowded!
