Jonker Walk is located at the heart of the Melaka city center. This Chinatown is located along Jonker Street, nearby Jalan Hang Jebat. If you are near Dutch Square, make the noticeable red Stadhuys Building as your landmark. Jonker Walk is on the opposite of this building. You can simply get a trishaw ride here, walk from other nearby attractions or rent a bicycle to go around Jonker Walk.

- Try to avoid visiting here during Malaysia school holiday season.
- The crowd can be huge and it can be uncomfortable to shop.
- If you reach here by car, kindly ensure you park at designated parking area. The streets here are quite narrow so be mindful while driving and do not speed.
- Melaka has been recently declared as a smoke-free state. You are not allowed to simply smoke by the streets or anywhere you like. Smoking is only permitted at designated areas or else you could be summoned.
- It is recommended to visit Jonker Walk Night Market at around 7pm to 8pm for a smoother journey. It will be more crowded past 9pm and if you arrive later than 11pm, some stalls might be closed. Although Jonker Walk Night Market was never popular with pickpockets, it is best to keep your valuable belongings safe and be extra careful with crowded places.
