Wediombo Beach is about two hours drive from Yogyakarta. There is a public transport from Yogyakarta to Wonosari. Then from Wonosari, continue the trip with a small bus Wonosari-Jepitu. This bus departs every 20 minutes and you will get off at the junction at Jepitu. The only way to get to the beach from the junction Wediombo is to use an ‘Ojek’ (motorcycle taxi). Renting a private vehicle especially if you are in group might be much better.

- If you come here to relax and chill by the beach, it is highly recommended to visit here during the evening to witness the stunning sunset.
- Surfing here is recommended for professional surfers only as the waves are too powerful for amateurs to handle. High tides have been witnessed severally to overflow into the lagoon, bringing its violent waves along. It could cause injuries for those who are still new to surfing!
- You could swim in the shallow waters but be careful with the coral rocks and do not swim too far in the middle of the sea. Keep your eye on the kids.
- Try and make some new friends with the locals here! Some locals are willing to cook you Indonesian seafood dishes if you buy from them.
- Bring wet tissues along as the water in the bathroom can be limited.
- There are limited facilities in this area as it is secluded and often visited only by the locals. Do bring along some light snacks and drinks on your own.
- To avoid the crowd, visit Wediombo Beach during weekdays or early in the morning. Weekends are often crowded with locals fishing in the area.
- This beach also provides a setting for an annual ceremony in which the locals placate gods with offerings in food and crops and catch fish using utensils made of tree roots.
