The play revolves around a love story of a beautiful princess known as Dewi Shinta who is struggling to decide on her marriage. This was then solved by a competition between two powerful men.

- By schedule, the show will take place outdoor from May to October and from November to April, the show will be held in an indoor theatre.
- There are two Ramayana Ballet shows held in Yogyakarta. One at Prambanan Temple and another one in Purawisata. Although the shows have the same content, it will be more epic to watch it at Prambanan Temple due to its atmosphere.
- Ramayana Ballet at Prambanan Temple is not performed every night like the one in Purawisata. The show is only available every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday night. Do check out the performance schedule to avoid disappointment.
- There’s always some setback for outdoor performance. If it is raining before the show, it will be delayed for about 30 minutes and if it is continuously raining, they show will be held indoor at the theatre.
- If there’s a sudden rain 45 minutes after they show has started, it will most probably be stopped and no refund will be provided. Be sure to check the weather before deciding to watch the show.
