Believed to be nearly 400 million years old, Gua Tempurung is famous for having the largest cave in Peninsular Malaysia. It is only a 15-minute drive away from the town of Gopeng. An area of 1.9km of its 4.5km length is open for public to explore.
Caving is well established here and guided tours are available at affordable rates. There are two kinds of tours: wet and dry. It will be an exhilarating experience to try both tours as you will be using both your arms and legs crawling on the floor and even sliding on wet rocks at times!
You get to explore the subterranean river and unique geological features of Gua Tempurung in your tours. Enquire with the guides about tours that may suit your fitness level. - Make sure you are given a helmet and wear it at all times during your tour. If you did not receive one, insist on it.
