There is no public transportation leading to Lata Tembakah Recreational Forest at the moment so you will either have to hire a taxi or drive down there on your own. The route to Lata Tembakah is clearly signposted. Just follow the state road T5 south till you approach the signboard which shows you Lata Tembakah on the right. From Kuala Terengganu, it takes roughly 2 hours to get here by car.

- The entrance fees are priced at RM 2 for adults, RM 1 for children and if you wish to camp here, there is a camping fee of RM 5 per person.
- If you wish to camp here, it is advisable to go in groups and bring along your outdoor or camping equipment.
- Bring along your binoculars if you are into wildlife spotting or birdwatching as there are some interesting sights to witness here in Lata Tembakah Recreational Forest.
- Waterfalls can be very dangerous! Mind your steps and surroundings when near the water or climbing up the tiers.
- It is not advisable to go here during the rainy season from late November to January as the areas here can be dangerous.
- Reserve a chalet ahead of time rather than booking one in-person at Lata Tembakah in case they are full.
- Always negotiate a price with your taxi driver before getting into the vehicle. It is advisable to pay them for the day and have them wait there for you till you are done as it is hard to get taxis at the area.
