This beautiful temple filled with Thai cultural influences is located in Tumpat, a district in Kelantan about 25km away from Kota Bharu. Tumpat is the most northern part of Kelantan and it is also known to be one of the national borders between Malaysia and Thailand.
The moment you enter the gate, you can feel the serene vibe and sense that this will be a zenful trip. Here, you get to capture the history and the mighty Buddha statue that was built many years ago. With the height of 30 metres, observe the sitting Buddha statue carefully and you can see that the lips is actually covered with gold!
As you walk into the temple, you will see murals and writing of their language written on the walls. As you walk further, you will also see a beautiful turtle pond located inside. This is the best place for you to have a meditation and get close to your inner self. The calmness of the place will surely give you a moment of peace.

- It is only recommended to drive here on your own if you are driving or renting a four-wheel drive vehicle as the road here isn’t really great for normal cars.
- Alternatively, you can hire a cab which will roughly cost RM28-RM31 per ride from Kota Bharu.
- If you wish for a cheaper option, you can also take a bus numbered 27 from the City Centre terminal station for RM2.00

- Temple is closed during lunch break from 12.30 - 2.00pm.
- From Kota Bharu, your journey here is only about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.
- If you are taking a bus from the city center, be sure that you arrive at the terminal early to catch the bus.
- Choose the seat on the right side where the temple is located, so you can see the view from the road.
- Remember to get on the right stop. If you’re unsure, ask the bus driver.
- Be sure to bring your camera, you would not want to miss taking photos of the big Sitting Buddha statue.
- Do not be surprised if you bump into group of monks speaking in Thai language! Apparently there are quite a number of Thai ethnic community that lives nearby.
