From Kuala Terengganu, travel via public bus or hire a taxi to bring you to Marang Jetty. The Marang Jetty serves as the launching off point for boat trips to Pulau Kapas. The boat ride is around 20 minutes long, with 4 scheduled departures from the jetty everyday.

- The island is not open during the monsoon season from November to March. Avoid making any reservations during this time.
- There are no ATM machines on the island. Most transactions here are on cash terms so make sure you withdraw enough money on the mainland before arriving Pulau Kapas.
- It would be a good idea to pack insect repellant as there are a lot of mosquitoes on the island.
- There isn’t much nightlife that you can enjoy here in Pulau Kapas. However, there is a fire dance performance usually held by the beach at night.
- Be sure to negotiate the taxi fare with the driver before getting in the vehicle.
- If you choose to go on a day trip to Pulau Kapas, the package can be as low as RM60 including boat fare, lunch and snorkeling activity.
