Located 46 minutes away from Kundasang in the east of Mount Kinabalu, getting to Poring Hot Springs will probably take you a 3-hour drive from Kota Kinabalu city through narrow roads of Sabah. From Kota Kinabalu, it takes a 3-hour journey by car to get here. It is best if you rent a car for 1 day to ease your trip as taxi prices can go up to RM250! Alternatively, you can get here by bus from Kota Kinabalu for an average RM16 or from Ranau. Be sure to purchase your bus tickets in at least a day earlier.

- Pack your essentials such as towels and a change of clothes if you wish to take a dip in Poring Hot Springs.
- To try other activities, prepare to bring along rubber sandals or trekking shoes and outdoor equipments that might be useful.
- It is best to avoid peak season such as during public holidays or festive season as the place can be crowded! It can be disturbing to have your relaxing hot soak interrupted with loud noises and packed crowd in the pools.
- Make sure to bring sealed plastic cover for your gadgets to protect your camera and phones.
- There is a fee of RM5 if you wish to bring in cameras. It is best to just bring one camera inside and use it for your group photos to cut on the cost.
- If you wish to record professional videos, there will be an additional charge of RM30.
- Be wary of illegal parking spots as they will charge you even more!
- You can also stay here overnight as there are plenty of accommodation options offered as long as you make advanced bookings.
- The entrance fee to Poring Hot Springs is priced at RM3 per adult / RM 1 per child for Malaysians, and RM15 per adult / RM10 per child for non-locals.
