Much like Kedah, Perlis also border Thailand and is located at the northern part of the westcoast of Peninsular Malaysia. It also neighbours Satun and Songkhla Provinces of Thailand on its northern border. Kangar, the capital of Perlis with Arau being the royal capital. A lot of travellers will pass through Padang Besar, a gateway to and from Thailand that links the main port and ferry terminal in Kuala Perlis.
Visit the Floating Mosque which is located nearby for some serene surroundings and if you're an avid angler, why not go fishing for a bit! If you are feeling rather sleethery, check out Snake Farm in Kangar famous for its research on snakes. For outdoor enthusiasts, the Perlis State Park will be a worthy visit for its continous range of limestone hills in the Nakawan Range. Gua Kelam and Gua Wang Burma which is located within the 500-year-old Setul limestone formation. You can also try outdoor rock climbing in the limestone hills in Bukit Keteri; with over 50 sport climbing routes that are bolted by the world reknowned climbing team Mammut & Camp5; the crags split into 2 next to each other and the rockfaces rising up about 150m. The range of difficulty is from beginner to expert and many varieties of climbs are available.
