Depending on which package you choose, an off-road trail led by your guide can contain as much as 90% of biking through the jungle! You’ll also travel on village roads or even visit caves and old mining areas as part of your tour. A true ride through the jungle brings you in contact down winding downhill ravines, elevated terrain as well as streams and full river crossings!
In most cases, you are even riding over suspended bridges or carrying your bike over made bamboo and log crossings. Travelling by bike gets you closer to nature as you pass by the exotic flora and fauna in the jungle. When exhaustion gets the best of you, cool down with a dip at a waterfall or gentle river before heading back to Kuching.

- Follow the instructions of the guides at all times and listen to the safety briefing.

Insiders’ tips
Insiders’ tips
- Some tour packages offer off-road biking with varying levels of difficulty. If you do not have experience with off-road biking earlier, it’s best to join tours that require minimal experience as they will use village roads and steady terrain for at least 50% of the journey.
- Kids below the age of 7 are not suitable for this biking trip.
- If you have a GoPro or similar device, don’t forget to attach it to your bike to record your journey!
- During the trek there will be little or no facilities along the way as you are cutting through streams and jungle. Towards the end or in the middle of your trip (depending on your guide) you will stop at a village or small town for food where you can go to the toilet and have lunch.
- If a fast paced ride through the jungle isn't your thing, most operators also offer leisure guided heritage tours in Kuching.
