Formerly a government mansion, the renewed recreational park of Labuan Botanical Garden is now home to diverse tropical plant species. It was first built in 1852 as the official residence of the first governor of Labuan, Sir James Brooke. This historical site was destroyed by Japanese occupation during World War II in 1945 before it was then restored as a recreational park in 2001.
Today, the beautiful Labuan Botanical Garden serves as one of Labuan’s main tourist attractions that is frequented by visitors from all over the globe.
