If you are staying at the popular Raja Ampat Dive Lodge, Pianemo Islands is sited approximately 1.5 hours away from the lodge and you can take a speedboat from the resort to get there. It is also reachable within other areas and islets of Raja Ampat. From Waisai, you can get here by a speedboat to Pianemo Islands for a 2-hour journey.

- Because Pianemo islands is located in a more secluded area, the trip there is not a straightforward one. It takes several flights from Bali and also boat trips to reach your destination so be prepared to do a bit of traveling but the end result will be well worth it.
- There are no direct flights to Pianemo Islands. If you are in Bali, you will need to take up to 3 flights to get to Raja Ampat. You can fly from Bali to Makassar, then Makassar to Sorong and then from there to Raja Ampat.
- Since the island is a bit more isolated, it is best to do some research on where you want to dive beforehand, especially if you are travelling here alone. It is best to prepare a map with you at all times.
- Weather forecast might be a bit hard to predict as Raja Ampat is made up of small islets and the weather there might be affected by the geographical aspect on each islets. It could be raining at Pianemo Islands but sunny at its neighbouring islands.
- If you are staying at nearby resorts such as the Raja Ampat Resort, you will only need to travel about 2 hours via speedboat.
- Travellers can also explore Pianemo Islands by trekking the hilly terrains. However, do travel light and bring only necessities. Do wear proper trekking shoes as it might be able to minimize your chances of slipping.
- If you happen to visit Pianemo as part of your tour, there might be a small fee imposed. These fees will be used by the Raja Ampat government to preserve the natural resources at the islands.
- Kindly do not litter or take away anything from the island such as corals. Please do your part is supporting and preserving these natural resources.
- Be aware that visitors are expected to pay an environmental maintenance service tax to the local government there and foreign visitors’ fees can double in amount.
- Environmental Maintenance Service Tax will cost IDR 500,000 for locals and IDR 1,000,000 for foreigners.
